Who are these terms with?

The AChat team, based in Lahore, Pakistan. When you use AChat or pay for a plan, these are the terms you agree to with the team.

Who can use AChat?

You need to be 16 or older to use AChat. If an account turns out to belong to someone younger, it's closed.

A personal account needs a Google account. Anonymous rooms don't need an account at all.

What am I responsible for?

Your devices, your recovery key and anything you share.

• A linked device acts as you: it reads your chats and sends messages as you. If you lose one, remove it; it stops getting new messages, but what it already saved stays on it.
• Your recovery key is yours to keep. If you lose it and every linked device, your message history can't be restored, by you or by the AChat team.
• If everyone in a chat forgets its audit password, that chat's private location history is lost for good.
• Anything you send can be copied, saved or screenshotted by the people who receive it. Deleting it later doesn't reach those copies.

What isn't allowed?

Don't use AChat to share illegal content or sexual content, send spam, harass or threaten anyone, or pretend to be someone else.

Communities marked Mature are 18+ spaces for adult topics. They never allow explicit content.

What happens if someone breaks the rules?

The people who run the space act first. Group admins can remove members and delete any message, and community admins handle reports and bans.

A report sends the messages you select to AChat's moderators, and in a community to its admins as well. The moderation queue never shows who made a report.

When you report messages, you can choose spam, harassment or bullying, sexual content, threats or violence, or something else.

A message an admin or moderator removes goes to that space's Trash, and only its admins can restore it.

A community ban lasts until an admin lifts it. Your earlier messages stay unless someone removes them.

If you think a ban is wrong, Ask for review opens the contact page with the community already named.

The AChat team can suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. You can ask for a review through the contact page.

The team makes the final decision, and a review doesn't guarantee any outcome.

Who owns what I post?

You do. By posting, you give AChat the permission it needs to run the service: to store what you post, deliver it, show it where you've shared it, and review it when it's reported.

What are the conditions for anonymous rooms?

Anyone with a room's link can join it under a display name, unless the room has a password.

A room can appear on other websites. Its keeper chooses which ones, and an empty list means any website can show it.

How do plans and payments work?

There are three plans: Free, Pro and Team / Family. They differ in four allowances: file size, how much file storage each chat gets, how many rooms you can keep and for how long.

You pay by bank transfer, using the details and reference code AChat's checkout shows you. The AChat team matches the reference to your payment, and your plan changes once it's confirmed.

The AChat team sets each plan's allowances. Plans and pricing shows the current ones.

On a smaller plan, nothing is deleted. You can still read everything and keep messaging; only new files in a chat that's over its limit, and new kept rooms, are refused until you're back under it.

The Team / Family payer manages seats and renewal but can't read members' chats or see their location. If the payer ends the group, everyone keeps the plan until the paid period ends.

You can belong to one Team / Family group at a time.

Deleting your account ends a paid plan straight away, with no refund for the time left.

There are no refunds for part of a paid period. If you cancel with Cancel plan, on the pricing page or in Account, your plan runs until the end of the period you paid for, and the AChat team won't expect a renewal payment.

Does AChat promise to always work?

No. As far as the law allows, AChat is provided as it is. The AChat team may change, pause or stop any part of it, and doesn't guarantee that it will always be available or that your data will always be kept.

As far as the law allows, the AChat team isn't liable for any loss that comes from using AChat or from not being able to use it.

If the law where you live gives you rights that terms like these can't remove, those rights still apply.

AChat is for messages. It doesn't make voice or video calls.

How do I stop using AChat?

Deleting your account happens straight away and can't be undone. Delete it from Account, in the Data tab.

• If you own a group or community, pick a new owner first.
• Messages you sent stay in other people's chats, marked as from a deleted account.
• Deleting your account ends a paid plan straight away, with no refund for the time left.

What happens when these terms change?

The date at the top changes with them, and changes are listed in the release feed.

Which law applies?

The law of Pakistan, and disputes go to the courts of Lahore, as far as the law allows.
